...searching for a better name since 2004 “In the twentieth century, no movement will be as beautiful as the movement of the line across the paper, the note across the staff, or the idea across the mind.”
- Steve Martin, from Picasso at the Lapin Agile (1993)
All material copyright 2006-2007, Cheng / Ferrara Productions, unless it’s already owned by someone else and attributed as such, or in the public domain, or covered under the doctrine of fair use, and let’s face it, how much of this stuff do you really want to steal? Probably not much, right? And how bored are you, that you’re actually reading all of this, what with the tiny, tiny print? You ought to go see a show or something. At the moment, we recommend Once On This Island, presented by The Pennington Players in the middle of August at Kelsey Theatre, on campus at Mercer County Community College. Just a thought. http://www.kelseyatmccc.orgshapeimage_16_link_0

For the Glory: The Civil War in Song
music by Frank Wildhorn
written by Frank Wildhorn, Jack Murphy, and Gregory Boyd

The Kelsey Players co-sponsored this revised version of the musical that played on Broadway as The Civil War. Based on the popular production staged in Gettysburg, PA, in the summer of 2006, the Kelsey Theatre performance featured songs and scenes not included in the original Broadway production. Featuring Andy Mahaney as the Union Captain, William Kamps as the Confederate Captain, Keith Spencer as The Abolitionist, and Michaela Alyse Tomcho as Sarah. Lighthearted fun was had by all.

book and lyrics by Don Black and Christopher Hampton
based on the novel by Bram Stoker

This premiere version of the Broadway adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula was developed in collaboration with composer Frank Wildhorn, and featured a newly revised script, never-before-heard original songs, and new orchestrations by musical director Nicholas Cheng. Starring David Weitzer as Dracula, with Michaela Alyse Tomcho as Mina Murray and Charlene Angelini as Lucy Westenra. Also a frankly disturbing quantity of fake blood.

The Last Five Years
written by Jason Robert Brown

Cheng / Ferrara Productions’ debut performance was Jason Robert Brown’s The Last Five Years, produced with the generous support and assistance of Martha R. Gasparian and Playful Theatre Productions. The Last Five Years featured Anthony J.M. Vitalo as Jamie, Vicky Czarnik as Cathy, Nicholas Cheng on piano, a crack team of six string players, and regrettably, no photographer; production photos from our version of The Last Five Years are in short supply, so if you have any floating around for some reason, e-mail us and we will pay you for them in cold hard cash (if “cold hard cash” is defined as “an enormous amount of gratitude and a mention here on this website).
